The HardiePanel® can be used in various applications, starting from the classic and stately board-and-batten style to the ultra-contemporary combination with Easy Trim Reveals panel trims systems.
Stucco Siding
Stucco is a classic look that has been used for centuries. S.I.S. uses Adex brand polymer-based exterior coatings for those customers that choose the traditional look of stucco. This system is known as Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS), offering superior durability and minimal maintenance, plus energy efficiency.
Stucco can dramatically increase the aesthetic value of your home plus provide a crucial reduction in heating costs. Adex offers 300 standard colors as well as unlimited custom colors and choice of texture for the finish coat.
Stone Siding
Many Calgary homeowners choose to add stone when renovating their home’s exterior, for timeless beauty and an air of sophistication that enhances resale value. The options S.I.S. offers for masonry siding are:
- Cultured stone, also referred to as artificial or cast stone, which is a concrete product manufactured to mimic the look and feel of natural stone. It is cast in molds, colored with iron oxide pigments and is the most popular choice for homeowners in Calgary. It is available in a large variety of colors, profiles and sizes, and some of our suppliers offer a lifetime warranty on their products.
- Natural stone has a varied appearance and can be complementary to any architectural style. Natural stone veneer is typically 1.5 inches thick and on average about 15 pounds per square foot, which allows it to be installed without any additional support. Most natural stone installed on homes in Calgary uses approximately 70–80 percent less material than full bed depth masonry, thereby reducing the impact on our natural resources, including the amount of fuel consumed during shipping. Natural stone is also superior in withstanding the effects of the sun, water and normal wear and tear.
Vinyl Siding
Vinyl siding is an affordable alternative to other types of siding and offers style, ease of use and durability. It is also recyclable and resistant to dents, weather effects and fading. Vinyl siding is known for its deep, penetrating color, which keeps scratches and blemishes from becoming highly noticeable. It never needs to be scraped or painted like other materials, and cleaning is as easy as an occasional spray with a hose or mild detergent. Vinyl siding does not rot, rust or crack and provides an excellent overall value.
